Items to take for visiting Machu Picchu:
Backpacks of any size are okay, but medium is recommended because bags over 25 liters are not allowed inside Machu Picchu. If larger, you must store them outside. At the entrance of Machu Picchu there are lockers that you can rent for 3 soles.

Description of Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu 2 days / 1 night
Day 1: Cusco – Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes
Around 6:30 a.m., we will pick you up from your stay in Cusco to begin your journey through the Sacred Valley.
Chinchero
After a 45-minute drive, we will arrive in Chinchero, where you’ll explore a fascinating mix of Inca and colonial history. Visit an ancient Inca archaeological site and a colonial temple. Additionally, you’ll meet a local family and learn about traditional Andean textile art, including weaving techniques passed down for generations.
Moray
Our next stop is Moray, known for its unique circular terraces. These incredible formations were once used by the Incas as an agricultural laboratory. You’ll have time to walk around, take photos, and marvel at the ingenuity of Inca engineering.
Salineras de Maras
Then, we head to the Salineras de Maras, a stunning network of salt ponds on the mountainside. Learn about the traditional methods of salt production that have been used here for centuries and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Sacred Valley.
Urubamba
For lunch, we will stop in Urubamba, where you’ll enjoy a buffet meal. Take your time to eat as much as you like and recharge for the rest of the day.
Ollantaytambo
After lunch, we will continue to the largest archaeological site in the Sacred Valley: Ollantaytambo. Explore the impressive Inca terraces, temples, and stone structures while learning about the site’s history and significance.
After exploring the ruins of Ollantaytambo around 2.30 p.m. you will have time to explore more of the town by yourself, untill you will get ready to hop on the train. For example, we advise you to go for dinner before boarding!
By 6:30 p.m., we will head to the train station in Ollantaytambo to board the 7:00 p.m. train to Aguas Calientes, marking the start of the next phase of your adventure. The hotel staff will be waiting for you with a sign with your name on it. Around 9:00 p.m. you will be checked in at your hotel.
Day 2: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco
Today, after breakfast, we will go by foot (2 hours walking up) or take a bus ($12) to Machupicchu where our Machu Picchu guide (for circuit 2) will be waiting for you and the rest of the group (tour in group service). With the guide, you will explore and learn a lot more about this wonderful Inca city. In the afternoon, we will return by foot (1 hour down) or bus ($12) to Aguas Calientes where you can have lunch. Then, around 4:00 p.m., your return train to Ollantaytambo leaves. Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, the train staff will guide you to the right bus. This bus will take you back to Cusco. There our private transport will be waiting for you with a sign with your name. He will take you back to your stay in Cusco.
