Important information about your Nazca Lines flight

Flights over the Nazca Lines normally operate from the morning until the afternoon. The exact departure time is assigned at the airport and depends on weather conditions, visibility, wind, air traffic, airport operations, and aircraft weight distribution.

The flight itself lasts approximately 30 to 35 minutes.

Please note that your pickup time or arrival time at the airport is not the same as your confirmed flight departure time. Once you arrive at the airport, your personal details will be registered and the airport will assign the flight schedule.

Waiting time at the airport is possible and, on busy days or when weather conditions are not ideal, delays of several hours can occur. For this reason, we strongly recommend keeping your schedule flexible and not booking a bus, transfer, or other important activity shortly after your expected flight time.

Your safety always comes first. Flights only operate when weather and airport conditions allow safe flying.

Passenger weight and aircraft balance

Before the tour, we ask every passenger to provide their correct body weight. This information is essential because small aircraft must be carefully balanced before every flight.

All passengers are also weighed at the airport before boarding.

Passengers weighing more than 95 kg are required to purchase an additional seat. This is an operational and safety requirement related to the weight and balance of the aircraft.

Please provide your correct weight when booking. If your weight changes significantly before the flight, please inform us as soon as possible.

What to expect at the airport

After pickup in Nazca, you will be transferred to the María Reiche Aerodrome.

At the airport you will:

• Register your personal and passport details
• Be weighed for aircraft balancing
• Complete the required airport procedures
• Pay the airport and tourist fees if these are not included in your booking
• Wait for your assigned departure time
• Receive final boarding instructions before the flight

Large luggage does not need to be taken on board and can be stored during the flight.

Flight delays and waiting time

Nazca Lines flights are very dependent on local flying conditions. Delays can happen even when the weather appears good from the ground.

Motion sickness

The Nazca Lines flight takes place in a small aircraft. During the flight, the pilot makes controlled turns to both sides so passengers on each side of the aircraft can clearly see the geoglyphs.

Because of these turns, some passengers may experience motion sickness or nausea.

• Eating only a light meal before the flight
• Avoiding heavy or greasy food
• Avoiding alcohol before flying
• Drinking enough water
