When is the best time to take this Amazon jungle tour in Peru?

Wildlife sightings are possible year-round during an Amazon jungle tour in the Tambopata National Reserve. While some animals may be easier to spot in the dry season and others in the rainy season, there’s really no bad time to visit. Unlike other regions, the Amazon doesn’t have extreme seasonal changes, so the forest stays full of life all year long.

What season has the most wildlife?

You can enjoy an Amazon jungle tour at any time of year. The Tambopata National Reserve has two main seasons—dry and rainy—but wildlife is active in both. Most animals in this part of the Amazon are year-round residents, so your chances of spotting monkeys, birds, and other species remain high no matter when you visit. Rain rarely disrupts excursions, and each season brings its own charm and opportunities to explore the rainforest.

While wildlife is never guaranteed, this Amazon jungle tour offers some of the best chances to see animals in Peru. The area around Finca Sachavacayoc lodge is rich in biodiversity, with nearby oxbow lakes like Tres Chimbadas, Condenado, and Sachavacayoc regularly visited by monkeys, colorful birds, caimans, and even giant river otters. Many guests spot multiple monkey species right from their cabaña.
